Marshmallow Root Extract is a gentle, soothing herbal preparation traditionally used to support tissue comfort and balance throughout the body. Known for its naturally demulcent properties, marshmallow root is especially useful when irritation, dryness, or sensitivity are present and a calming approach is needed.

This herb has a long history of use for supporting the throat, digestive tract, and urinary system by helping to coat and protect delicate tissues. Rather than stimulating the body, marshmallow root works by creating a soothing barrier that allows irritated areas to settle and regain balance over time.

Marshmallow root is also commonly used in animal herbalism. This extract is alcohol free, which can make it easier to administer to pets, particularly cats, who often resist alcohol-based extracts due to taste and smell.

*Because marshmallow root contains natural mucilage that can coat tissues, it may also slow the absorption of medications or supplements taken at the same time. Vegetable glycerin is used in this extract because it is particularly well suited for marshmallow root. Many of marshmallow root’s most beneficial constituents are water soluble, including its naturally occurring mucilage. Glycerin effectively extracts and preserves these soothing compounds, helping maintain the herb’s characteristic coating and calming properties.

Common Use For Humans:
Under 12 mo: 1–2 drops
1–4 yrs: 3–5 drops
5–8 yrs: 5–8 drops
9–14 yrs: 10–15 drops
14 yrs+: 20–30 drops (up to 1 dropperful)
Can mix with water, tea, coffee, or juice
2-4x daily as needed

Common Use For Dogs:
Under 15 lbs: 5–10 drops (about 1/4 dropper)
15–30 lbs: 10–20 drops (about 1/3–2/3 dropper)
30–50 lbs: 20–30 drops (about 1 dropper)
50–80 lbs: 30–45 drops (1–1.5 droppers)
80+ lbs: 45–60 drops (1.5–2 droppers)

Use 1–3 times daily as needed.
May be mixed with water or added to food.
